Funky Christmas Gifts!

We all know someone if its yourself, a friend or a family member who either gives of receives a very fun novelty clothing gift! They can be anything to a fun in your face knitted jumper from your Nan or a pair of socks or even a pair of novelty under-ware from your lover! Most of the time you hate them and only ware it for that day before its thrown into the back of your wardrobe!

This year I received a pair of novelty socks from my Mum theses were knitted but were in fact bought from a shop (Matalan) these shocks were made to look like reindeer Rudolph to be precises they had very nice pink pom pom for the nose, but the real head turner was that they had built in toes this when worn looks very peculiar! Although its strange and kinda weird to look at I just love them and will be wearing them through out the winter season in fact I am wearing them as I sit here writing!
They aren't your everyday fashion statement but I just adore my socks!

I would just love to know if you got any fun or slightly strange novelty clothing and feel free to upload a picture too!

The Guide to Accessories!

Accessories are one of the most important part of an outfit! It gives it The outfit that little something!
I think that write now chancy oversized jewellery like bangles so so in and I just love them! Also long gold neckless's are very in with quirky things at the end such as bears!

When it comes to bags and every day life then I think a small over the shoulder bag is perfect and is so write now but if you are going out then an oversized clutch bag is the way to go! I think matching your shoes with your accessories is very important and finishes of the out fit perfectly! If you are wearing something classy though stick to the classic elegant neckless and earrings with a couple of brackets will do the trick I think this works the best with Silva then match the shoes with what colour diamonds you have used in the neckless earrings bracket together! If you uses
this guide you will never go wrong!

Statement Blazer

This seasons are so in and can really make an outfit look sophisticated. Also a blazer can really bring an out fit together and give the outfit an all round look.

This season a blazer is one of the must have items in your wardrobe, a blazer could also be apart of you party outfit this month for Christmas or new years! One outfit that I think looks fab is a long blue blazer with the arms rolled up to elbows and a pair of short shorts finished of either with a big statement handbag, across the shoulder handbag or even a clutch and a couple of long gold neckless's.
A great part outfit with a blazer could be a mid length dress (I think it would nice with any colour but i am going with pink this time) with a long black blazer a oversized clutch some killer hills and a long gold neckless again!

Another I just love witch I just adore is the long sparkly blazer with a plain (made silk or even chiffon but it doesn't have to be) top and a pair of sparkly short shorts from boohoo.com witch I think makes a perfect Christmas-ey outfit. This outfit I just found out Nicole Sherzinger is total rocking in black sparkles!

Wear these with a plain top and some long gold neckless's and then add some chunky bangles and an oversized clutch bag and of course a pair of major killer heels!

Ages and Ages ago I said I would upload the research I did on Yohji Yamamoto work well now I can Finally do it (hopefully it looks okay!) His work is really Inspiring and should really take a look at some of his collections!

A Day in a Life of a Fashion Designer: Yohji Yamamoto

Few other professions depend so much on keeping on top of fickle popular opinion and watching what competitors produce. The life of a designer is intimately linked to tastes and sensibilities that change at a moment’s notice, and he or she must be able to capitalize on or even better influence those opinions. Designers reflect society’s sensibilities through clothing design. You have to know just about everything that’s been done before so that you can recognize it when it becomes popular again,

A bit about Yohji Yamamoto:

Yohji Yamamoto, born 1943 is an internationally known Japanese fashion designer based in Tokyo and Paris.
Born in Tokyo, Yamamoto graduated from Keio University with a degree in law in 1966. His further studies in fashion design at Bunka Fashion College led to a degree in 1969.
Yamamoto became an influential fashion designer after making his Paris debut in 1981. His commercially successful main lines, Yohji Yamamoto (women/men) and Y's, are especially popular in Tokyo.

Yohji Yamamoto: Career
Yohji Yamamoto is a Japanese designer. He designs and sells contemporary fashions.

He officially started his career in 1972.
He Designed  custom clothing Tokyo, from 1970; formed ready-to-wear company, in 1972; showed first collection, in Tokyo, 1976; launched men's line, 1984; Yohji Yamamoto design studio in Tokyo, established, 1988; also opened Paris boutique; collaborated with a film Notebook on Cities and Clothes, Berlin, 1989; signed licensing deal with Patou. His life as a fashion designer isn’t just designing fashions he plans fashions and the runway it’s self. He also adds the finishing touches to other creations and make sure they are up to standard.
She has recently opened an exhibition in the V&A; this is because he is recently opening his first shop in London.

What makes Yohji Yamamoto’s “his”,
Yohji Yamamoto’s work is contemporary and in way slightly gothic. Most of his work is dark and normally flowing. In this he adds flashes of colour in to it as well.
His label and logo is called Y-3. Which Started in 1972 and debut in Paris in 2003.

Exhibitions, Books, Fashion Shows and Shops
Exhibitions:
In the Victorian and Albert (V&A) was Yohji Yamamoto’s first solo exhibition. In this exhibition it celebrated the work of Yohji and how he made his work unique. It explains how he uses different sorts of prints, materials and types of clothing to make something different. It also explained how he often didn’t finish of seams and parts of the garment to create an unfinished look. Some of his garments for men were very different in the sense of he used lots of “loud” floral prints and sometimes makes skirts for the man. Yohji Yamamoto also had a number of different exhibitions dedicated to him over the years as well.

Books:
Yohji has a few books which help with this research one book had a section dedicated to him in “Modern Menswear” he has also written a auto-biography called “My Dear Bomb” another book he helped with which celebrates his work was called” Fashion Memoir Yohji Yamamoto” .

Shops:

Yohji has shops all over the world:
·      He has one in London, Conduit Street
·      One in the USA ,Grand St, New York,
·      Also  Antwerp, Belgium
He keeps a set theme throughout his shops as you can see:
Which is very modern and is black and white.

Fashion Shows:

Yohji runs unique and “fun” fashion show that show of his contemporary fashions. He takes part in most of the fashion weeks around the world and puts down new fashions every season. He normally has different themes to his fashion shows but uses similar sorts of styles in away that’s very different.

The Clothes Show Live! 2011

On Wednesday I went to the last day of the clothes show live. This was the last day of the event and most certainly the best day to go. this is because everything you buy is discounted loads it was amazing how cheap things were! even brands like Paul's boutique was discounted soo much! The High light of the day has to be the fashion show! Theme was a night a department store and there was so many great outfits there was also a whole host of celebs like George Lamb, stars of hollyoaks and the boy band from the X-Factor as well as many more! In the main part you can pay very little money (£3-£5) to get gift bags full of make up magazines such as ELLE and every day items.
In there you can do anything from shopping watching a concert on a smaller stage, eat loads of crap or even having a drink the bar! It really was a great day and would defiantly recommend it for next year!

The Party Season Must Haves!

The party season is finally here and trying to find the perfect part dress is even harder than every this year as there as so many different trends and styles available! I think for this time of year a sparkly dress is very important.
Some of the styles I just love is the figure hugging dress to really show off your sexy curves! Also floor length dresses are really in and are hitting the red carpet this month more than ever! Another great trend is the pleated flared skirt of the dress lace features are also hitting the high-street every were as a must have feature!  To finish of a fantastic party look you need lots of accessories and a lavish pair of hills and a clutch bag!

This Dress worn by Taylor  Swift at the american Music awards is a perfect example of a party dress; sparkly, floor length, and body hugging though I think she should have worn a neckless with the strapless look. I think this dress is absolutely amazing!

This dress from oasis is gorgeous with the lace design and the pleated skirt makes it a must have this Christmas!
I just adore this dress with the elegant lace at the top and slightly pleated skirt and the two materials work in harmony with the belt bringing it together this dress is one of my favorites. this dress is from the online shop BooHoo.

This dress from lipsy is embellished body hugging dress showing of those curves with the lace to give it that something else it really is a perfect party dress.

Some of my favorite shoes are from BooHoo.com and will go great with the lipsy dress which are also available in black.

The Long And Short Of Long Skirts

Fashion-savvy people never lose sight of long skirts because these have an undying appeal. Whether in their knee-length variety or the ankle-length ones, these skirts are created in both chic as well as the classy prints. For instance, you will never find any shortage of floral, animal or funky prints. Similarly, you won't find any dearth of sober colors on the sales rack either.

What Is Your Image Saying About Your Business and Career

Do you have a good presence? What does your image say about your career and personal success?

There is more to having the right image for personal and business success than just wearing a great fitting pair of pants or handing out an impressive business card. Although you should never underestimate the importance of donning the fit, colors and style that flatter you the most, remember also that presence is required; def: the impressive manner or appearance of a person. Your personal and business appearance are affected by, but not limited to:

* The clothes you wear

* Your body language

* The tone and speed of your speech

* Your social media presence

* Your business's printed materials

All of the above make up the message that you are sending to your clients, superior, coworkers, family, and friends. The way you are perceived is key to how one finds success and happiness in all aspects of life. Here is the truth:

* Others judge us within 20 seconds of meeting us.

* In a job interview, 90% of the decision whether or not to hire is made within the first three minutes.

* A study by Clairol found that companies projected salaries up to 20% higher based on a job applicant's appearance.

* How you say something is as important as what you say.

* Power and status are established very early in any relationship.

* People judge us based upon their perception of us.

* Perception of us is based upon the image we project (how we look, act and sound) which is directly related to our nonverbal behaviors.

* When we are perceived as being highly competent as well as highly likable, we maximize our ability to persuade, influence and lead. Presenting your best image includes many aspects, such as how you dress, smile, shake hands, stand, and speak, eye contact and even your table manners. In other words, it takes the whole package to get the respect, job, salary, and interest of those you are trying to get to pay attention to you and the message you are sending out. Your presence reflects who you are, and in business the image you project is your virtual resume and business card. So how can you be sure that you are putting your best self forward? Begin by dressing in clothes that work for your personality, lifestyle and body shape. Notice how when you are dressed in flattering and well- fitting clothes that you start to not only look but also feel more confident. You will then find yourself standing straighter, smiling brighter, speaking with a more confident voice, and sending out a very positive and welcoming message.

Just by changing your wardrobe choices and posture, you can transform your current presence from just okay to impressive. If you want to attract business and personal success, then consider making some needed improvements and enjoy the compliments and positive attention you will definitely receive. So, What Is Your Image Saying About Your Business & Career? As an Image Consultant, it is my job and mission to show my clients how they can improve how they look, and stop wasting money on clothes that do not fit and flatter them. Nothing makes me happier than when I see how people's eyes brighten when they love what they see in their mirror and get the success they deserve.

The Popularity of Clothing As a Gift

Whether it is Christmas, a birthday, something to say thank-you, or even a gift for no reason just to show that you care, clothes have become one of the most popular items to give. Offering somebody a piece of clothing as a present can show that you really put thought into what you were getting them.
